Who Am I?

Who am I? What brings me to design the things I do? These are the questions I ask myself a lot. I was born in South Carolina on a naval base and then moved to Wisconsin to grow up. When I was growing up I had a passion for drawing and engineering, these two things were very different, and I never thought I could bring them together. When being introduced to industrial design I immediately fell in love with it and couldn’t wait to see where life was going to take me. When I design, I try and think about everyone and everything and try to come up with designs that everyone can utilize. Design is something that allows me to express my passions in a different way. I love being outside enjoying nature, whether that’s skiing, mountain biking, running, or playing soccer. All these things are what make me, me. Hanging out with friends talking about what makes the world turn or understanding what people like and don't like about the everyday objects they use. When I graduated UW-Stout with a BFA in Industrial Design, I was excited to see what the world was going to look like for me. Instead of jumping right into work I took a gap year to explore a little bit of the US and go and meet amazing people. My time away and from home and design taught me to grow and be patient with others, really listen to them and understand them. I got to learn who I am and what drives me in life.
